Simple Beginnings

Every other Friday night, my family gets together for what we have termed as the Friday Night Fish Fry.  Our children usually get excited on the Wednesday before the Fish Fry.  They look forward to dancing, mingling with their cousins and most of all the food.  My parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins and family friends bring in fish, oysters, fries, gumbo, shrimp, potato salad and of course, spirits.  It makes my dad, who is the oldest of 9 siblings,  pretty happy to see his family dancing together, laughing together and simply enjoying one another's company.  Out of this family tradition of sharing conversations over fried fish, singing Jeffrey Osborne tunes and line dancing to Mardi Gras music came Simple Modes.
